Breaking: Trump Responds to at least 10 women and children with Utah ties killed, Cartel Style, in Mexico

Just a bit of historical context/explanation:

Polygamy was a core tenet of Mormonism from very near the beginning. When Utah was trying to get statehood (late 1800s) the US govt. wouldn't let them become a state as long as polygamy was practiced/condoned. So in 1890 the Mormon prophet at the time, Wilford Woodruff, received a "revelation" (called "The Manifesto" for some reason) changing the doctrine of the church to prohibit the practice of polygamy.

This, of course, pissed a lot of people off. They figured it was a politically expedient "revelation" and didn't buy it. So lots of people broke away. A number of them went to Mexico to practice what they believed was a truer form of their religion and set up several colonies just across the border. From what I understand, part of the Romney crew went south.

They (the Mexican fundamentalist Mormons) still maintain ties with many in Utah - both in the orthodox Mormon community as well as in the remaining polygamist sects (LeBaron is a big polig name in Utah still).

Lots of polygamists in Utah, too still, living under the radar. Some of the best people you'll meet. And some really bad apples under that flag, too.

Anyway, that's what they're doing in Mexico. Living what they believe to be their religion free of governmental persecution. Whatever that's worth.

It may be for no reason at all. Mexico has one of the highest rates of nonsensical murders that occur, like that school bus filled with kids who were abducted and all killed. The bodies of dead Mexican women are always popping up constantly too. Killing people is a drug fueled hobby that they have there, and even going back to the ancient tribal times of the Mayans and Aztecs, this is the type of activity they were into. Mel Gibson's Apocalypto shows what they were into very well, it's sad that he got completely canned for one bad judgement call during a police stop.

We assume that they got in a mafia cross fire. The families are thinking that the mafia mistook Rhonita’s vehicle for a rivals, then proceeded to attack. They eventually realized they killed an innocent family. To cover their tracks they burnt the vehicle with all of the passengers inside. Then took all the other woman and children hostage. It’s a developing story. That’s all we have. 10 confirmed dead. 13 victims are children.
