War against the cartels just means acquisition of cocaine importation route control for US black budget.
Just like war against Afghanistan meant acquisition of control of poppy fields.
War on drugs = war on drug dealers that aren't us.

I expound on this statement, yes the US government has been running drugs, but I firmly believe Trump has tried to eliminate drugs in and coming into the country, I don't think he has any intention of continuing the practice of the former administrations and their drug dealing ways. However I don't doubt there are military and others who would love to take over what spoils the cartels will leave after their much needed demise and destruction. Would be a beautiful thing if hard drugs were gone from our society, it would change the world... It would indeed change the world: the entire economy as we know it would collapse. But I agree with you that it would be a beautiful thing for hard drugs to disappear.
