Re: Black Sabbath
I hope some Sabbath experts arrive and answer my question from another thread about the short acoustic piece at then of "Heaven and Hell".

Pinned to find out what anybody knows about the acoustic piece at the end of the song.

 Quoting: MuchMaligned

I don't know without looking.

Just wanted to post this because RJD had a beautiful voice live.

OP I agree with you. BS was and is great. I went thru Jr High with them.

Many talk about Bonham, and he's great. Cream's drummer was way overrated.......

But Bill Ward is a monster.

Here is a great live version from Paris.

Re: Black Sabbath
Even though Black Sabbath and Grand Funk Railroad were the very first albums I ever bought at 12 years old, I must confess, I did not listen to them very much. Sorry.

I was never a hard rock kid back in the 70's. Back then it was all about 45's and what was popular at the moment. Usually I would just listen to the top 40 radio and what was popular. A new hit song was playing on the radio every month. The kids that really loved Black Sabbath were on drugs.... usually. Many of them didn't make it. Crash and burned. One of my hard rock druggie friends DID make it, but he's a total religious freak now. Nearly every sentence has God, Jesus or Saved in it. But he's happy and alive and just married a beautiful chick. So it's good.

Started as a blues band. Iommi doesn't get enough credit. Nobody sounded like him before.

Absolute original - nothing even close.

He was proclaimed the "Riff Master" by Hetfield, but it doesn't take a genius to appreciate the genius of Tony.
