Supplements in general are meant to prevent nutrient deficiencies brought on by a poor food system

...not to cure or prevent pathogenic disease.

Thus, if your diet is rich enough, you technically shouldn't need supplements.

I eat canned food.
And genetically I have bad nerves.

If I don't take at least magnesium, within 48 hrs like clockwork I get textbook symptoms of Mg deficiency.
mainly gigantic muscle spasms.

I started keeping an epsom salt carton in my room for 'emergencies' / days that I forget to take my vits.
