I'm in a similar situation, but I just choose not to go even though they invite me. After last year, I'm boycotting them. They are nuts. They actually think CNN is legit news, and that Trump is a dictator. These are supposedly smart people too. One is a teacher, one is a lawyer, etc...They act all nice when they invite me, and they act all nice in the beginning, but then they bring up Trump and as soon as I respond with anything that shows my support of him, they viciously attack. At least that's how it went down last year. I'd prefer to be alone.

one of the best thanksgivings i ever had about 15 years ago..was taking some shrooms and walking around the lake near my place at the time and it was a beautiful quiet foggy day.

i get along with my family but they were far away. and i wasn't dating anyone at the time.

i fed the ducks and geese and as i said it was such a thick foggy day and i was tripping lightly and smiling the whole time.

life is what you make it.

Meh, Thanksgiving is just another day. I'm spending it alone, too, because of plans that fell through on my daughter's end. Then I made plans and her conflict was resolved, but then I couldn't change my plans back. Big whoop.

Do you have a family member who is an ally who could read a letter you write? Tell them why you support Trump and why they should be thankful he is President (i.e. tax cuts, good economy, low unemployment...). Lay a guilt trip on them and make them look petty while maintaining your dignity. Two can play that game of manipulation.
