The Mechanics of Dreams and Lucid Dreaming.
Here is a video that is for both the beginner and advanced dreamer. It delves deep into the mechanics of how to dream, how to program your dreams and gain something of value from this naturally occurring nightly process that everyone has when they sleep. Dive in, learn some skills and start living that second life.

Re: The Mechanics of Dreams and Lucid Dreaming.
Great timing!
I'm just reading a book about death, & a lot of it deals with continuity of dreams & remembering what transpires during sleep.

It states that as soon as you leave your body at night you can mingle with the inhabitants of the astral & especially family etc that have died.

I've read your posts in the past OP & was wondering if you can comment on this? Ie: During sleep you can catch up with deceased family & friends.

It also talks about the 7 spheres of the astral & then to the mental spheres & onto the true home of the Soul.
Have you been to any of these "higher" spheres & if so, what was it like?

Thanks

Re: The Mechanics of Dreams and Lucid Dreaming.
When I was 4 years old, I was walking down the street and I found myself, saying out loud, "I'm really here! I'm really HERE!!" Why I thought that was so profound, I don't know. But, suddenly I experienced Life as a Dream, a Lucid Dream, and I was the Dreamer. It was like I went from being an actor on a stage lost in the part, to being in the audience. I thought about telling my parents but I knew it would be a waste of time. They thought Life was REAL." -- My first experience of Truth
About 25 years later, I had the same experience. A friend of mine dropped by with some coke and good bud. We smoked it, then just sat outside in the evening just meditating in silence. I was unbelievably relaxed. I felt myself float out of my body and I Awoke in the Dream of Life again. Just like having a lucid dream where you wake up...half way, and know you can make anything happen in the Dream. I was a musician at that time and hoped to play Oakland Coliseum one day. I knew I could make that happen! But, I was afraid of what I might become to do that...timidly, I came down and back into my body.

My trick is to sleep for a decent amount, then wake up for a bit and then go back to sleep while thinking about lucid dreaming and being able to fly.

When I begin to realize I'm dreaming, I make myself fly through the entire dream. That way my mind doesn't get confused about whether I'm actually awake or sleeping. I trained my mind to know that if I'm flying, I'm dreaming.

Re: The Mechanics of Dreams and Lucid Dreaming.
I used to have lucid dreams. If you asked me a question, even if it was a future event, I could tell you, in exact detail what was going to happen, where things were, time of day, etc. I even made it a point to prove it to people. Well, I started abusing this gift/ability. The last time that I can recall having one, I assisted someone in pre-planning a robbery. I told them where the safe actually was (it had been assumed to be in another place which it was not & none of us had any way of knowing that). An unfortunate turn of events happened next. Someone ELSE robbed the location the night before it was to "go down" & the person I was originally helping to plan it was accused of it because of loose lips. I had a hell of a time explaining to the detectives my role in all of it. Haven't had one since. I really miss it too. I wish I'd have never started abusing it but perhaps it's a good thing everything happened the way it did or I might have gotten myself involved in something worse/deeper.

Mind you Satan is the king of stress. Pain, finances, drunkard issues, sorrows, tribulations.

Once a person has stress, they get insomnia. Once they get insomnia, they can't deep sleep....or heal. Only 25% of healing occurs during the day.

Point is, meditate, never watch stressful videos before sleep. Have white noise in your room. Sleep far from your office. Be down by 10pm. Never consumer stimulants after 6pm. You room should be dark when lights off. practice deep breathing and focus on one thing only before sleep. if you wake in the middle of the night, exercise a little (I use 20lb dumb bells) then repeat.

I lake having a job at home, even if its low paying, at least I can put some hours in if I can't sleep.

Jung said never lucid dream. It’s becoming willfully deaf. The dreams are the deeper you and god speaking from the subconscious. If your bring your consciousness to the dream world, you mute the messages it has for you.

Not in my experience.

Notably I had a lucid dream that I was in the astral watching the dead people leave this plane. This old lady had a suitcase with her in front of me, she had just died. Also have been able to fly and watch the landscape and such, and the messages from deeper self are right there. The dream talks back, and if you ask dream characters to interact it gets really really crazy.

I asked this question for years. How can you go back into the same dreams? I did it four times in one night and one dream. That was the most. I can also visit past dreams. Can someone tell me how I do this or are these really dreams?

Re: The Mechanics of Dreams and Lucid Dreaming.
When I was a child, around the time I was in 4th grade, I went through a period of dreams where I was able to fly, not arm flapping like a bird but just floating up in the air and able to move around observing the people down below and the surroundings of my neighborhood. It’d be like rooftop height and was so real and joyous that I missed the dreams terribly when it stopped.

Re: The Mechanics of Dreams and Lucid Dreaming.
I've been through your website and read your book in the past.

Just wanted to point out that your website you mention Stuart Hameroff's Orch-OR theory of consciousness.

This is based on the false presumption that light exists as a duality of light and particle, and that somehow consciousness "emerges" from the collapse of a wave function.

We now know this is false. Light is a field perturbation. Consciousness is related to the field geometry of Dielectricty (or electrostatics) .

I'm still delving into the implications of this, but thought I'd pass the info your way.

for more detailed explanation:

Dream then is likely some short of "phase shift" as described by Monroe and his contemorary Frank Kepple:

Re: The Mechanics of Dreams and Lucid Dreaming.
I lucid dream every so often. It's always a trigger that makes me aware. Sometimes it's flipping a light switch, the light is odd so I realize I'm dreaming. Or touching a fabric, realizing it doesn't feel right. Sometimes it's trying to read something on paper, the letters are squiggly and shifty. There are lots of triggers you can discover that will help you snap out of it so to speak, and wake up within your dream.

The last time I lucid dreamt, I noticed a door in my home that didnt actually exist in my real home. Then I realized I was dreaming.
