They are the NWO. |

I'm not mean, or degrading to them. I just say that, and keep on walking. Works every time. If like he said, I'm in a store with a membership card... well that changes everything... I'll let them check my receipt in that case. |

Google it. [link to www.nytimes.com (secure)] That's horrible! Walmart and other companies have created well-oiled operations, hiring law firms to send tens of thousands of letters a year. Walmart set a collection goal of about $6 million in 2016 for one of its go-to firms, Palmer Reifler & Associates, according to a court paper filed as part of a lawsuit Ms. Thompson brought against the retailer. The firm also pointed out to Walmart that minors tended to pay off more frequently, the filing said... ...Mr. McDonald said that if Ms. Thompson’s daughter took the groceries without scanning them properly, it was by mistake. Video surveillance, reviewed by The New York Times, shows her daughter trying to scan and rescan groceries at the checkout machine for about 17 minutes. Walmart has not filed shoplifting charges against Ms. Thompson’s daughter. “They are playing games with people’s future,” Ms. Thompson said. So for 17 minutes no one will help her But they will pay a goopy lawyer to basically extort 200 bucks. This is rampaging capitalism. |

As a poster above stated, don't like the policy then shop elsewhere. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28816501 Very recently, I was at a store and had one bag, three items. I was asked to show my receipt, which I did. THEN the lady dumps the items from my bag on the floor, and rifled through them as if I had something hidden in them. It was HUMILIATING since a couple of the items were going to be gifts for the person standing next to me. I doubt I will ever go to that WalMart again. I HAD used the self check out. I am mature but have never shoplifted in my life. I was not unkind to the store greeter, but I did want to rage at her, for her silent insinuation. |

BeSkeptical User ID: 46420627 United States 11/17/2019 10:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The crazy issue with Walmart's checking of receipts (only in some stores in some areas) is that, for a year or so, Walmart was actively encouraging shoppers to use self-serve checkout and phone-only Walmart Pay. This is, of course, a recipe for customer theft! I recently noticed that Walmart Pay now gives me a message saying something like, "You may have to show this bar code on exit." That now makes Walmart Pay more trouble than simple credit card usage (which produces a paper receipt). |

If stores could not check if items were purchased then internal and external thefts would cripple the store. It would either have to increase prices of close down. This would mean wholesale loss of jobs which would impact all the businesses the terminated ex employees used. The cars they drive to the house or apartment they live in. But all that doesn't matter to you. Next time a cop pulls you over, refuse to show current insurance. They are demanding you show proof you purchased something, insurance. Of all the ills in this world, asking to show you bought something is your concern. However if the biz world loses enough and petition for a law to mandate showing purchases were made, then it's ok. That stupidity is why we volumes of laws, civil and criminal. Very true. |
