Well duh! That's because it's not 3rd, 4th or 5th person hearsay. You know, the only "real evidence" is hearsay.

I'm not talking about land. Industry, infrastructure (ports, airports, energy, telecoms, roads, etc), construction, real estate, agriculture, entertainment industry, etc. People have no idea! China keeps a close eye on their citizens here, even people that are no longer Chinese citizens.
