I don't trust this, they never do anything good, always a "oh by the way...". This means monsanto is ready to take over the seed banks with GMO poison weed, they'll take away guns, have cops "catch you" with it "in your system" with new weed breathlyzers...They will use this as a trap. Dems NEVER, EVER do anything that's actually good without a serious BACKSTAB.

LOLZ! Kamala Harris sponsored bill, reeks of publicity play for her Presidential run. Here's a hint....

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY is getting their records "expunged", to think so you would have to be a fookin child-like moron. The simple fact is that they were arrested under then-current statute and knowingly broke the law. The US has never, expunged records of people who knowingly break the law.

That being said sure it's just a matter of when it gets de-scheduled.

all cool if its DESCHEDULED, and not RESCHEDULED,

but id imagine it will still be state by state, but if something is DESCHEADULED, there cant be grow laws, just like tomatoes arent scheduled. But HEMP was descheduled, and they still play BS with it.

so who knows

"The study examined how the changing legal status of marijuana has impacted mortality in the United States over the past two decades. Investigators found that legalization and access to recreational marijuana reduced annual opioid mortality in the range of 20% to 35%, with particularly pronounced effects for synthetic opioids.

The research extends prior findings that medical marijuana laws reduce opioid mortality rates. The findings are timely given the scale of the opioid epidemic in the United States and growing calls for marijuana legalization throughout North America.

"Recreational marijuana laws affect a much larger population than medical marijuana laws, yet we know relatively little about their effects." said co-author Nathan W. Chan, PhD, of University of Massachusetts Amherst. "Focusing on the recent wave of recreational marijuana laws in the U.S., we find that opioid mortality rates drop when recreational marijuana becomes widely available via dispensaries."

False. Opioid deaths are at an all time high.

It's good and all but from what I can see the states can still keep it illegal.

So many states are going to keep it illegal i'm sure, NC, florida, georgia for examples.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42079668

that's better than a state making it legal and then feds come in busting it all up.

Like him or not, the one thing the Trump admin has been doing it the background is replacing judges in ALL courts. These judges, he states, will administer the 'rule of law' from our Constitution 'as written.
This is a BIG step for returning to our Republic and our nation to its peoples.

In a REPUBLIC there is no UCC law, no MARITIME kangaroo court system. The Rule of Law is Natural/Common which is in contrast to statutory.
I don't believe the majority of Americans understand what this means ...

..."The plan was first reported by Tom Angell for Forbes.

Effectively, the measure would allow sales nationwide and includes language that would establish a 5 percent tax that would be deposited into an “Opportunity Trust Fund” in the Treasury Department. Those funds would be divvied between the Attorney General’s office for legal aid and the Small Business Administration for equity and job training programs.

In the House of Representatives, the measure includes 55 Democratic co-sponsors – from both legal and non-legal states – but no Republicans. It was introduced in July by Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY).

In the GOP-controlled Senate, the bill is sponsored by Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), who is also seeking the Democratic nomination for president. Other presidential hopefuls Sens. Elizabeth (D-MA) and Corey Booker (D-NJ) are two of only 5 total co-sponsors – all Democrats – on the measure in the Senate.

NORML Political Director Justin Strekal thanked Nadler in a statement, adding that “never in history have we been closer to ending the failed policy of marijuana criminalization and providing pathways to opportunity for our brothers and sisters who have suffered under its oppressive reign.”

Bill to end marijuana prohibition in the U.S. passes key committee

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WSET) -- A congressional committee has approved a piece of legislation to end marijuana prohibition in the United States.

According to a press release, the Marijuana Opportunity, Reinvestment, and Expungement Act, better known as The MORE Act (HR 3884), would remove marijuana from the Controlled Substances Act and impose a minor excise tax on the legal cannabis industry to pay for the expungement of criminal records, among other changes, passed with a bipartisan vote of 24 to 10.

Crime for pot has INCREASED because people are growing more than allowed by law, stealing their neighbors weed and selling it on the streets - which is still ILLEGAL - you can only legally buy it at licensed stores.
Grandmothers are smoking and eating pot cookies now. It is the 'thing to do'.
Drug use in Canuckistan has gone through the roof since it was legalized - so go peddle your bullshit elsewhere.
