When the cold hit they were telling farmers that they could store wet grain frozen as long as temps did not go about 35F degrees. 7 days later it hit 50F degrees.

Farmers can not store wet grain with dry grain or all of it will rot. Can't have a bad apple in the bunch or...

My husband and I farm here in Iowa, there have been much worse years, droughts etc. At least this year the corn is there in the fields. There have been other years you have to wait till the ground is froze. This is not the first. We finally finished yesterday. Most of our neighbors are done and moving on to fall tillage already.

I truly think this is blown out of proportion trying to tie this to Trump.

A lot of these farmers loosing their farms isn’t because of harvest woes it’s because of poor financial management. You don’t need a 1/4 of a million dollar combine, traded in every year. Or a brand new tractor for every piece of equipment you have. Or 4 brand new semis every year. You don’t need auto steer or every piece of whatever equipment happens to be the “ new big thing” this year.

Common sense spending, people!
