One of the oldest plants on earth is chaparral. The creosote bush has a stand in the Mojave Desert for over 11,000 years. Propolis comes from bees and many are contaminated from the synthetic creosote of wood tar that has infected the bee population.

The king clone in the desert is 11,700 years old. The top above ground has died yet the clones spring up from the underground expansion forming a ring.
