i don't think narcissists target anyone in particular. they are too busy thinking of themselves. i do think that social media has created more narcissism, or at least brought them more into the spotlight. with that said, i think everyone has some narcissistic tendencies, but at a certain point, it becomes a problem.

Yes fb has been a narccicist amplifier and yes it has bloomed those stinky flowers.

I know my mom targeted my sister after I cut all contact and when my sisters husband threw her out of their house she's working on her niece and now my cousin is getting divorced because of the influence my mom had on her. There are lots of us just sitting back and watching this now but the people involved don't believe it until it happens to them.

narcissists in the family are the most difficult to deal with. sounds rough. sorry to hear.

envy is totally different from attempting to break a family up.

they are and I've had no contact with her for almost 20 years and I'm just now understanding there is a clinical diagnosis for people like her. She did try to get in contact again through the cousin when her father/ my moms brother died a couple years ago. I said no and the cousin cut me off because my mom made her feel sorry for her lol.

It's a fucking circus!

My sister was married to a sociopathic narcissist for 10 years. For 6 years after the divorce, his entire life goal was to ruin her as best he could. CPS reports, refusal to pay child support, literally quit his job when she started having his paycheck garnished, moved to another state when the legality of it all was getting tough...he manipulated the kids and had them hating her for a while due to a bunch of lies. He's a total psycho. There was so much he did that was so crazy that my sister's lawyer didn't even believe it was that bad until she saw evidence. She said it was the worst case of emotional abuse she had ever seen by far. His own lawyer fired him because he was so psycho! Just last month he told their oldest he wanted nothing to do with her because she chose the evil mom over him. Ugh

Oh my! You are lucky you were just witnessing this and not the target! It is hard to believe unless you know what you are watching and aware.

Narcissists are completely unable to be self aware.

They're all usually liberals, they always try to manipulate me, they always try to get me to adopt their beliefs. When they make no progress is when the nasty side of them comes out.

I did talk to a shrink about it like in the 90's and he told me that I shouldn't have any contact with her but she would "groom" me into trusting her again and then bam, right straight into my jugular.

There has to be something to warn us before we even invest any time in them.

Why is the clinical diagnosis important to you? Are you unable to recognize the difference between people who are good for you and the ones who are toxic? And why does it matter what their motivation is? Would it be better for someone to fuck your life up for no reason at all or because they were envious? Same outcome either way.

Listen, people exist on a Bell Curve, really bad on one end, really good on the other and most people somewhere in between. Pick the end of the scale you want to be on and stick to friends and associates who are similar and avoid those who are not.

No one has an obligation to keep toxic people in their lives (other than parents and children and even then there are ways to protect yourself) and you seem to know the difference between them. Don't worry about why they are the way they are, just pay attention to the signs.

I wanted to join a forum for this abuse but then I saw that there are narcissistic members and I was totally disgusted and I just don't want to be around them. Then I realized the gas lighting that can even goes on here by the undiagnosed people. They are everywhere.

I light my gas all the time. What is the problem with this?

It took me years to realize this. Thank you. Others don't understand why this happening to them, I had no idea what gas lighting was until I put it into perspective in what's happened in my past just recently. As well as being groomed. I thought only pedo's do that, they don't and that disgusted me even more that these people are so low level to gain trust.

Narcissists (NPD) are dangerous.

They are not capable of empathy. They do target others to suck the life out of them because they are vampires.

Narcissists will employ and surround themselves with "flying monkeys" to help them target certain individuals. These flying monkeys buy into the narcissists lies and deceptions and wait for the promised (empty) rewards that the narcissist promises.

In some cases when Narcissists don't get their way they will revert to murder.

They are extremely dangerous on the wrong end of the spectrum. I had one of those in my life. I wonder if that's the abuse you are always picking up with me. I'm glad you posted here.

Be aware of those... those are the psychopaths, they do believe in their own lies even when they do know it’s a lie just cuz they wanted to.

Anyone can look like a Model with a filter.

Its only when you are actually outside in the real world that you see them for who they really are.

Youd think seeing all these images of people online that they are so beautiful and attractive, but the majority of people who have posted pictures or videos online have doctored them to a degree, often heavily. Just take snapchat for example, you can use a really basic filter without any of that flamboyant crap, and it can remove all wrinkles on your face any blemishes etc..

Not to mention the other effects you can use to doctor such images or videos.

We are gradually moving into a world in which people simply Live in an artificial reality/world. Where the only thing that matters in a profile pic.

You would be shocked to see some of these people in real life and how different they look compared to what you were originally shown.

Tread carefully this world is not what it seems. And the majority of Humans are falling for the Trap of deception and lies.

The need to destroy others is because of their self-esteem deficiency. Like when a man slices up a woman's face so no other man will have her. Possessiveness but in a sick way.

Gaslighting, making you the crazy one. Narcissists will go a long way to ruin your reputation (behind your back), again so no one will have you and you will run to the Narcissist (so they can possess you).

Narcissist target certain types, people-pleasers, nice women, friendly and sociable women, accomplished women, bubbly personalities, high energy and independent women. And then destroy them.

No contact, go full no contact. Any attention you give them will start the cycle over and over again.
