The Russians captured his remains. The remains were locked away inside their archives until after the wall came down. There has been a documentary or two about testing the remains but I can't remember what the result was. You need family members to test DNA otherwise it is only about first hand evidence and if in fact it was the remains from outside the bunker, burnt in a pit with considerable petrol.
