"Smart" = "Spy"

What is it about that simple equation that people do not understand?

Unfortunately I had to get a new TV this past spring ... all that was available with a decent picture were "Smart TV's". I bought one (Samsung) but it has never been connected to my router via it's built in wireless connection, and NEVER will be.

Of course that means that certain functions do NOT work, but it still works OK as a "dumb" TV, which is fine for me. Ditto ... the reason I am still using my older ROKU box that does NOT have voice commands. In fact NOTHING in my house except my laptops and my cell phone have a working microphone in them, which is fine with me.

I know I am still being spied upon by my phone, my internet provider, and possibly by my laptop, but at least those items are semi-controllable, unlike a smart TV, Siri, or other voice controlled products.
