My very first real concert, in 1979, in Amsterdam, I was 14 and they were amazing, with St. Paradise, the old backing band from Ted Nugent as support act. Alex (van Halen) threw his drumstick into the audience, right into the eye of the guy who was standing next to me :) David Lee Roth did not jump over the drum kit but the drumkit was on fire at a certain moment....

Fast forward to 1995 and I'm working at pop festivals in Germany and Denmark (selling clothes from South America). We're at Rock Am Ring, huge festival close to Frankfurt, two days, the second day all we saw was little girls, 14 years of age or so, WTF??? Yeah, Bon Jovi is playing... Ahhh ok.... Terrible, horrible concert, after Bon Jovi it was Van Halen, nothing like they were in '79, with Sammy Hagar singing, I thought they were terrible, boring....

And then..... The last act of the festival.....

STATUS QUO!!!!

And they were fantastic!!! I jumped my ass off when they played, just fantastic... A very beautiful girl with an enormous head of red hair was jumping beside me and I had her in the tent were we kept all the stuff we were selling the whole night :) Next day all the sellers were pretty pissed off, you wanker, you got her!!! Yes I did :)

After we did a few more festivals in Germany and Denmark (Roskilde was fantastic) I went back to Frankfurt to get together with that girl again, horrible, terrible experience, for some reason she was kicked out of her house staying in a very small shitty place. All sorts of German guys who were mad with jealousy and wanted to fight with me all the time, she was horrible, angry all the time and then it turned out she was pregnant, not by me, I was always using condoms, but from some other dude, and it was going to be her third abortion in a year or so, I got the fuck outta dodge, never saw her again :)
