The Founding Father's created The Electoral College to thwart this kind of misguided mindset. The Electoral College is designed so that population centers would not determine the outcome of Presidential elections.

Obfuscated with stipulations decided to outline justifications for beaurocracy and wheel spinning to conceal bribery and corruption, the election is ALWAYS decided by the hand of secret rule.
