Here's the truth; All of these leaks ahead of the report are a trap on two levels; False info reveals who the leakers are: and 2. Downplaying the end result ahead of time sets up maximum impact because they will not be prepared to refute it.

This is what happens when individuals and institutions get too big to fall.

Up until Nixon the general public had more or less implicit trust in the president and the government. During the Watergate, people got their faces rubbed in the fact that yes, even the presidents lie. That mistrust made it harder for future leaders to run business like Eisenhower did, for instance. Just compare the level of trust in 1950s and 1970s.

Now, the people who should keep watch on those who govern balk at the idea of actually tearing down an ex president, ex Secretary of State and the FBI. They don't want to bite the hand that feeds them and political convenience disguised as concern over national stability and security trumps justice. It's very easy for an IG to make an argument like "This is too big. If I go after them, the people won't trust the government anymore and we'll look weak to our enemies. I don't want to cross that line."

It's funny how everybody understands the too-big-to-fall at least on a subconscious level, but refuses to acknowledge it. Some institutions are practically untouchable, because bringing them down would shake the house of cards that's the entire government.

Either Barr has more info than Horowitz, which would make sense because of Durham, or WaPo is printing misinfo in order to muddy the waters and the findings in Horowitz's report. Iow's, fake news so as to further divide the country and give the Dems cover while making Barr seem suspect.

Now, we will never know. We will have to wait on Durham's report. I wonder what press outlet will sabotage his report?
