I personally dedicated my life to being a servant of Jesus and it completely changed my life. Everyday i wake up full of meaning, as I could save somebody any day and anytime, and its the greatest thing in my life. Money cant compare with the joy of saving someone. This life is but a test, will you fall to the pressures and conform to the satanic media, or will you be strong and persevere for what is right and commanded by God, and go on to live in a better place on judgement day? Do i still work a job making those that hate me rich.......yes, but I make sure to read the bible on the clock :)

Life is what you make it.

If your life is boring & unfulfilling, you can change that... and only you can, as no one’s going to magically appear to do it for you.

Get proactive... stop reacting to life & take control.

If you’ve been dealt a truly bad hand by your perspective, realize that there are others in FAR WORSE circumstances than you, and change your perspective... learn to be grateful for what you have & are, & also for what you don’t have & aren’t.

Live that old saying; “I cried because I had no shoes, then I met a man who had no feet."

Thank God for your shoes, and for your ass that you’re about to get off of & go change your life.

How do you find any fulfillment or interest on this hellhole? I don't mean that rude Scrump I enjoy reading your posts just an honest to God question. This reality is so dull and uninteresting to me whatever I do. Maybe I'm just delusional but I sometimes think I was put on this earth in this limited body as a punishment. I find it so infuriating that it makes me want to scream.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69770231

To me, it’s all about expansion & growth... never sitting still & being a victim of circumstance & apathy.

Learn new things, do new things, meet new people... become more than you are, & a better version of you.

Set positive goals for yourself... make a list of things you’d like to do, be, and achieve, & start working on that list, checking off the entries one by one. Don’t start off too big if the list is daunting, start by improving on the little things & work your way up, and progressively, you’ll transform.

You’ll begin to like yourself & your circumstances more & more as you see tangible evidence of your improvement, & before you know it, you’ll have a whole new life.

And thank God in all things along the way... even those that seem bad to you at the moment, because obstacles are meant to be overcome, and once they are, you’re stronger & able to go even further.

That’s how I do it.

Re: Is this really what life is. Working every day for 60 years . For what? To pay bills and eat food. Fuck man .
there is a meaning and purpose to life. When you find it, it makes everything else fall in line, and the necessities of existence become much less about yourself and more about others.
The secret is this..... family.
Lifes purpose is to multiply. To create and care for more life. All other things are ultimately meaningless and trivial.
You feel this truth now, because you are missing this part of the equation.
Find a woman, start a family, you will quickly realize what it is you go to work everyday for... and will find purpose in guiding and supporting your children.

As stated in your OP you are choosing to make the bare minimum to get by.

So to answer you question yes you do if you want to survive. You have the option to work harder and find a better paying job or staying at your mediocre income level and hope for a miracle.

Really a simple choice

Just remember when you hop around jobs and don’t invest in a 401k or pension youre damming yourself later in life.

As a kid life seems so amazing and you can dream of big things and have faith. The older you get it seems the world tries to take away your faith. I have had 8 jobs in my life starting in high school and I’m just sick of this shit. I’m lucky to make 100 a day . I know that’s poverty level. But I manage. But thinking ahead I have to do this every day for the next 30 years . How the hell do you guys and gals cope with reality.

I’m on empty.

I want out.

Fuck this hell hole planet.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73746426

Pretty much. The only way to get any kind of freedom is to own your own business. Then, you basically win the game and steal other people’s labor instead of them stealing most of what yours is worth.

Or you could go live in the wilderness off the land. I wish I could do that. It’s a lot harder than people think; not because it is hard to do that really but there are so many regulations and obstacles. It’s almost like you aren’t allowed to do what should be natural. I think that life would be a lot more simple and fulfilling.

I think one of the main reasons we don’t have fulfillment is that if you go to the store and buy eggs for example. You didn’t raise those chickens. You go out and buy a tv and you didn’t build that tv. Your labor isn’t very disconnected from the fruits of your labor.

If you lived off the land and gathered your food and built your own house; you would be much more proud and fulfilled with the work you have done. And your family would be tight knit unlike all the split up families of today

Pretty much any job if you could contract your labor and be your own company; you would earn much much more and that is what the labor is truly worth. Living off the land; there would be no loss of that labor value

The nature of our reality forces us to get up each day and fill the day with activities more or less. Everything is relative. I bet everybody here at some point in their life has experienced poverty. We all know what it's like to be skint, and i'm sure most of us here know what it's like to be comfortable with no debts and lots of savings. You can hide yourself away in a cave as a recluse or manage several 100 people within a busy company or exist somewhere in the middle. You are damned if you do and damned if you don't, so one may as well just get on with it as best as you are able to with the tools you have available. Avoid regrets, AVOID REGRETS.

I hear ya bro! Same shit for most of us...load, wash, rinse, dry, cycle, repeat and for what?

Time catches up, family and friends die off then if you are lucky you end up in a rest home where they actually take some care of you till you expire!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69153735

What is the alternative? Some kind of nirvana that has never existed? So you work for 60 years, so what? You are still living in an age where life is better, longer and more comfortable for the average person than it ever has been since the dawn of mankind. It was only a few hundred years ago that even the richest kings were reading by candle light, sweating or freezing without air conditioning or heat and shitting in holes in the ground. Life is tragic. Always has been. Always will be. If you are seeking some kind of grand happiness, it doesn't exist. It is the small things that make life precious. Learn to spot them.

OP - I hear you and understand, as I have the same thoughts.
I'd love to give the Commencement speech at University or College or even High School and lay out their lives in a realistic way.
The world is NOT your oyster, you CAN'T do whatever you want.
You will spend the next 50 years toiling for the government who takes the cream off the top of your efforts.

But as for a purpose in life, that's different and others have tried to tell you but you don't want to listen.
We were Created for a purpose - to worship GOD and walk humbly before Him.
The toilsome work becomes bearable when you know that your life has meaning and purpose.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 62939630

Silly... Why does God demand worship? Do you have Stalk Holms Syndrome? Only a narcissist would think that highly of themselves.
"Worship me, follow me on Instagram.. my Bible was written by men for that purpose. I didn't need to put forth the effort myself. Even though I as a perfect God can do everything better than humans. I'm perfect.. and you are fallen POS. That is why you should trust my book... the Bible. I don't know why I even put up with you... I guess I must love you. But don't push it. I can only forgive for so long. And you know you have it coming to you. It is your fault for your fallen state. All I ever asked you to do was love me? God is the ultimate, gaslighting, abusive spouse.

"I will destroy your livelihood if you don't follow my commands." Really? I don't think so. But, feel free to keep your god.

Depends what “stuff” you’re referring to.

My wife has a small business that we were able to create based off my good income to support the start up costs.

After that we starting purchasing property, we just bought our second lot and collectively own 10 acres now.

And if you’re unhappy in life you’re correct monetary value doesn’t fix this, but it sure makes it easier to get by without struggling paycheck to paycheck.

A house, nice cars, good wife, and great kids add to the pleasures in my life as well. Coupled with traveling to different countries with my wife and the ability to take up sailing as a hobby has made me pretty damn happy.

Happiness is all about what you choose to pursue.
