OP thinks he's miserable now. He has no idea how much work was required to survive 80 years ago--nor how much work would be required if he were alone in the wilderness.

All animals spend most of their life and energy searching for, or consuming, food---and sleeping. Some energy is also required for reproduction and rearing of offspring, and fighting for breeding rights between males.

Man has become able to plan and to specialize in different processes to be better able to survive and rest. But now we are at a point where the coming generations will be dependent on government to tell them what to do, what to eat, where to live. At least then, OP will not have to use his brain at all.
