I would agree, OP. Had to delete my LI profile after using it for a few months because of the exact same reasons you just cited. It's patently ridiculous and total freak show.

You know back a few years back when you see people like that in the office, the manager would walk over and say "there is no way we will ever promote that kind of behavior"
these kind of people were regarded as empty inside, no management value at all. Zero people skills and only self serve.
