Felt bad for the poor, minorities, etc. Love Trump. I was an enabler. Middle aged white guy here. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76892169 All of this liberal insanity is based on people feeling "sorry" for everyone. When I was in my early 20's, I walked around saying it was about time for a black president, Obama seemed like a highly intelligent guy. Tax the rich and give to the poor. Thought anyone right of center was heartless. I didn't vote but supported liberal policies. In '05 I was working for a healthcare provider doing claims when a black lady was introduced as our new supervisor. She was obtuse, clearly stupid and clearly promoted because she was black and female. At the time, I remember thinking....about time more black women make it to the top. Seriously. I was that big of a douche. Within six months she had promoted two black female friends to positions that others with more seniority deserved far more, and she got two white males fired. I went to HR and asked to be moved to a different area as I felt she was abusing her power. This got back to her and she got me fired within a month. I had been there four years and had hoped to make it a career position. That firing has kept two companies from hiring me, good paying positions. That situation opened my eyes. I really researched liberalism and conservatism. As I found out the truth, shocked isn't the word. I'd like to go back in time and punch myself really hard in the face. I replaced a black lady’s position and they told me I would be bored and wonder what she did when I started it. They then gave me a ton of more responsibilities they told me she couldn’t handle. I thought this was extremely unfair. I straight up asked why they didn’t fire her for not doing these things but are threatening to fire me for not accepting these extra tasks. They said that kind of topic is confidential. I always thought they gave her a job because of affirmative action. They even threw a party and gave her gifts when she left.
