The problem with The Paulick Report is it os a biased news source that censors and deletes my comments and many others thereby controlling the discussion and keeping inside info to themselves to gain advantage over their competition and silence the critics.

However the comments that are "allowed" at the Paulick Report generally fill in some of the details from the notoriously bad reporting.

Maybe the NY Times needs to pick this story up. Maybe mention all the drug allegations in Stev Asmussen's past, all the money he has made off this animal cruelty including former charges against his jockey for allegedly shocking his horse to win a race there is a NY Times article about that and a PETA video exposing the animal cruelty in his barn.

These are worth mentioning, any credible journalists would have mentioned them. However Paulick Report and Bloodhorse won't do that. Jeremy Balan is no longer with Bloodhorse due to his high level and honest reporting at Santa Anita and as you can see although Jeremy Balan is a top notch writer and fan favorite evidently cutting edge journalism is certainly NOT a skill major horse racing publications are wanting in their new hires as nobody has offered him a new position covering horse races- they want people who Just write positive stories and cover up the drugs, whips and deaths and you're hired! According to the NY Times Steve Asmussen has made over $200 million allegedly abusing racehorses. Trainor Scott Blasi was accused of shocking horses.

In the PETA video they were caught on tape saying the shocking devices were so prevelant in horse racing the starting gate sounded like a symphony.

Imagine being shocked AND whipped to run as fast as you can while drugged on a shit track, breaking your leg and being sacrificed on live t.v. in front of rich people in fancy hats who do not give a FUCK on live t.v.

We call that "sport"? WTF?

Still facing allegations to this very day of drugging horses how is Steve As mussen still even in the racing game and not behind bars after allegation after allegation of animal cruelty.

Allegations made in the comment section of the Paulick Report on this article mention it took years for the sentence to be handed down to Steve Asmussen on this - happening of course during the off season. What good is a suspension in the off season?

Thats how horse and dog racing have always worked. They drug them to lose , as well as win. They also pay off politicians not to investigate them, they get caught here often, the trainers from famous stables forget to bribe the new guy and it all comes crashing down. Without drugs, anyone could win, and that would bankrupt the rich ones whove been drugging forever.

Exactly and add to it a rock hard surface with pockets that are spongelike which are like tiny landmines to these racehorses at Santa Anita after heavy rains on desert imported El Segundo sand which trap the hoof and snap it when the horse is flying past it at over 30 mph. It grabs it does not let go and fragile glass like ankles snap. Then they kill the horse buy a new one start over. But they have 50 plus other horses in their stables at the track so nobody cares or notices and it is more then likely insured. So no big deal to the investor.

There is ZERO motivation for the Canadians (Stronachs) to fix the American race track properties. The land is worth more to developers who want to redevelope the track into the usual shopping malls, condos etc plans have been in place for years for Santa Anita.

So if protestors (Peta, Horse Racing Wrongs etc) win they make more money redeveloping.

If they lose they are already on Welfare from the U.S. gov. So they collect their checks once a month anyway.

Canadians (Stronach) own Santa Anita in Los Angelos, 2 in Maryland (Laurel and Pimlico) and Florida Gulfstream Park.

Horse racing has received over $7 billion in welfare in the last decade so their ass is covered regardless what happens.

So why fix the track? Why fight the horseman? Why fight or fix what the protestors are asking for? What would they gain?
