If I were the agency I'd make sure all the manufacturers of chips made a hidden hardware backdoor, then later act like the US and China were in oposition, when in fact they both cooperate in spying on most computers worldwide.
So in reality the software hacks is just one layer of acces points they have.

For the really tough nuts they have that hardware backdoor, though it's outright spying, in this day and age where nuclear material bio weapons and the like is easy to buy it can be used for good also.

Windows 7 is the last one you can take full control of yourself.

But it's a monumental task to do so and they don't make it easy.


It's far easier to get a hardware firewall setup. And instead of blacklisting stuff you don't want. Blacklist everything. Whitelist only what you specifically allow. Which is a pain in the ass if you do lots of new different things often.

At the very least everyone should get a program like dnsquerysniffer from nirsoft.net take a look at what urls your pc is trying to contact and deal with them accordingly.


So far it's next to impossible to take control of windows 10. I'm working on it. Slowly. But god it's such a complete clusterfuck mess of linked together bullshit. And so much doesn't fail in a usable way when you start breaking pieces of it on purpose.

Windows 10 is a highly functional and extremely secure OS. The cloud protection of Microsoft will keep your data safe from anyone but law enforcement, who as a responsible global citizen Microsoft is obligated to provide legitimate law enforcement with the necessary tools to prosecute criminals. Just like your ISP will hand over all your internet traffic to your local police.

As long as you don't break local laws or laws that your nation is a signatory to, you will never run foul of Microsoft or your nation's law enforcement.
