Anonymous Coward User ID: 76903646 ![]() 12/20/2019 11:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | 15 years ago, my wife and I had considered bankruptcy. It was Christmas, we were 3 months behind on our mortgage, just surrendered her car to the dealer, had 500 credit scores, and barely enough to eat. Never even THOUGHT about food stamps or any other assistance, it just was what it was. We decided that all of us would make each other Christmas presents that year. I made my oldest son (he was 5 at the time) some fishing lures, my youngest son (was 2 at the time) a soap box type car, and my oldest daughter (10 at the time) a dress from one of my wife's old dresses she didn't wear anymore. For my wife, I wrote a poem. That poem hangs on our bedroom wall to this day, my son's favorite lures are the ones I made, my daughter loved her dress up dress, and that soap box car still sits on my now almost adult son's dresser. Life is what you make of it OP. Being poor has rewards we miss some times. Family is the real richness, once you learn that, the rest is easy. . |
