Quoting: BohemianExile The 2nd Amendment does not mention guns at all. "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." What does the word "Arms" really mean? Drones? Rockets? Lasers? Handheld? Remote controlled? "Turkey’s new machine gun drones are proof that we live in a cyberpunk dystopia By Luke Dormehl December 13, 2019 12:51PM PST According to a New Scientist article, Songar has sufficient accuracy to be able to hit a 15-centimeter area from 200 meters away. If you’re someone who prefers to measure things in a combination of fruit sizes and sports fields, it’s the equivalent of shooting a mango from close to two football fields away. That distance could soon double due to software improvements. The drone also has night sensors to allow it to see in darkness. It can additionally be deployed in a group of three, which can be made to converge on a target for simultaneous firing. To select a target, all a Songar pilot would need to do is to select them with crosshairs using a screen on a remote control." [link to www.digitaltrends.com (secure)] LOL "We" - I use that word loosely, the US -Darpa probably has had the same proven out basic shooting drones ready to mass produce but moved onto 5000 plus better more efficient kill vehicles by now and they all are probably prototyped out and ready to be put out on mass superfast Assembly lines. Turkey openly exercising with these types of units is not a good sign though. It means some very bad things. Ken My personal thoughts & posts are mine alone. I Love God, Jesus, good people, and the U.S.A. the way the Framers signed the Constitution and Bill of Rights. In my real world life I don't have a problem with standing up to those with solid evidence of corruption from either side, of any issue or place. Many are they in this world that need to be rooted out. That makes me a target to be destroyed by very powerful people, I understand this. At some point we have to stand up for what is right before God. I have done this, lived this way, and will continue to do so till they finish me off or I croak of natural causes. |

Aselsan had the IHASAVAR system on display that has the capability to scan for and jam a device. The equipment at the US contractor booth could only scan because as the rep pointed out "FCC laws"... "(1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation." “Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the Last Day.” -Aiel Oath Let the Dragon ride again on the Winds of Time WoT WoT! We need to start making defenses against this shit, it's coming. Just a matter of who and where. Quoting: FlashBuzzkill THIS^^^ Visible drones are going to look like "dinosaur" tech soon. Nano-drones are where it's at. They already have prototypes the size of a housefly, that pick up audio & video. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76809044 robotic warfare is the wave of the future. (and they'll get 12 year old gamers to fly the drones in U.S. CONUS operation centers.) This may be an exaggerated story ... but the reality is when the next major War starts even the US, which has been avoiding arming Drones, will move into Autonomous Drone Killing Machines. (which you can be sure the Chinese have already spent lots of money developing) The days of the combat foot soldier are limited. The military that can cheaply manufacture and deploy a few million AUTONOMOUS (not needing human control and NOT linked to a control center) drones WILL control the local battlefields. Humans will not be able to operate out in the open in such a combat environment, and if they try their life expectancy will be short. Midwest Skeptic |
