Just A Thought User ID: 93768 Lithuania 08/07/2007 11:35 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If you are so paranoid about NSA or anyone else accessing your computer why don't you just learn more about it? This article is total BS. Granted Windows (like EVERY operating system) is not 100% secure. But there isn't built in NSA backdoors in ANY version of Windows. Are there vulnerabilities? You bet. Just like there are in every operating sytem available to the public. Yes, that includes Linux. Just google "hack <insert any operating system here>" and you will find countless websites with all kinds of discussions on security holes in every operating system. What your computer to be 100% secure? Then rub a lamp! |

Quoting: Silent HumanAre you saying; deal with it, it's just the way it is? I belive it is a violation of forigen policies if it was collected from my computer,(dont hang me on it). I'm not sure about foreign policies, but I doubt countries around the world don't already know of these backdoor passages Yes, you basically do have to deal with it, access is available to probably every operating system through backdoor passages. The only way I can see someone blocking it would be to be a paranoid programmer that watches all traffic and can write the appropriate scripts and all Linux, possibly safer, but I doubt it... if they want to get into your system, they can But then they don't really need to track your personal files on your harddrive when they can just watch all the internet traffic coming from your computer. |

MS isnt going to contact you directly if you use the "send report" to MS. It collects this information in an attempt to resolve common issues. The NSA has security guidlines for Windows, OS X and Sun Solaris. [link to www.nsa.gov] You people crack me up. Your home has locks on the doors and windows right? You think that will keep someone out that really wants in? The only thing the casual computer users needs to worry about accessing their system is a virus, trojan or a worm. Anonymous Coward User ID: 276281 United States 08/07/2007 02:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I wonder if they have the same shit in the MAC OS? Gawd I hope not! But then if not, why not? The govenment has been one of Micro$oft's largest customers for a few decades. Chances are this has been built in knowingly by M$oft to allow the government to load and snoop when ever and where ever they like. Typical of both MS and the US Government. Who's going to curb the abuse of power that's all too common in the government today, and of course they enlist major corporations to help aid and abet them in their nefarious and illegal little schems. |
WhiteCosmicWizard User ID: 99906 Australia 08/07/2007 03:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wow... that is some serious shit if true... how many people around the world use windows and have the internet? the NSA could be keeping tabs on everyone, they could even have lots of other countries top-secret military plans and info.... I found it interesting that the file to take out the NSA key has been removed from the Cryptonym site, in fact, everything has been removed and replaced with: "Yes, this is the website of Cryptonym Corporation (of the "NSA Key" fame). I hope to, sometime in the near future, put a brief explanation the whole story online, so stay tuned..." I just had a look for the file on my comp, couldn't find it, but found something similar called advapi32.dll, i copied it somewhere else, changed it to a .txt file, as you do, then opened it, clicked find, and typed NSA, but search came up empty handed. Could this be a little conjured up story? |
