United States 12/23/2019 07:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Haitian Revolution vs the Slave revolt of 1811 My niece asked me why the Haitian Revolution was so successful but not the revolt of 1811 in Louisiana.
I answered her question.
Because Saint-Domingue and the USA are two completely different set ups, and French and British colonizers are two different types of colonizers.
The French were Resource colonizers, the British were Transplantation and Settlement and Immigration colonizers.
Compared to a resource colonizers who colonized only for resources, we, a settlement colony had a lot more people.
In Saint-Domingue, where the Slave revolt was successful, it was an entirely minority rule regime... And being property, Saint-Domingue didnt have a Military or an independent leadership.
The USA was a more legitimate power... And wasn't a minority rule regime. |

I'd believe you. Your "oh, look how smart I am, I found an obscure site and I'm going to try to impress you all with some trivial history that's fundamentally flawed to begin with and hope you don't realize it" posts are beyond boring. Try some more babble, fuckwit, you're not doing well. "Socialism only works in two places: Heaven where they don't need it and hell, where they already have it." Ronald Reagan
