The Church believes in free agency as the supreme law. No one is forced to do anything.

Imagine it people love the church enough to willingly pay tithing year after year.. year after year. But more than that they give of their time and talents building up the church.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64698495

This person is lying. Mormons also practice a form of Al Taqiyya - so be careful trusting them. Joseph Smith taught it was okay to lie to non-Mormons.

You say they're not forced, but if you don't pay tithe you cannot partake in Communion - and that shit is EVERY SUNDAY. If you don't pay tithe you cannot be sealed in a temple which means you cannot gain access to God in the Telestial Kingdom, be a God yourself, nor see your children in Heaven.

The Wards I was a member of would sit women aside who did not pay their tithe so everyone knew. The men were okay though.

So this Mormon apologist is lying through his wicked teeth. If you don't pay tithe = no becoming a God, no being with God, no seeing your children in Heaven, no Telestial Kingdom, no Communion, no forgiveness of sin.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78161187

That is satanic.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76984449

As an active Latter-day Saint, I would agree that the description above is Satanic. Fortunately, not of it is true.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77927891

It’s enough that they focus is on money and making people pay up under an unbiblical tithe or they don’t get their own planet.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1865756

It said in the New Testament that you could fill the world with the things that Jesus said. The great thing about the Book of Mormon is that you can pray and ask God if it is true. Spoiler alert: it is.

You need to get with the times, Bro!

Blacks have been able to fully participate in every Mormon ordinance for 50 years or so. There are a whole BUNCH of Samoans in my neighbor's congregation, and many have intermarried with the "white" members as well. It is the fastest-growing religious group in Tonga; in fact, the Prince of Tonga is a Mormon! Many people from Africa are joining the Church, in fact they're building a Temple there.

Doesn't sound all that "racist" to me.

And they should have read this as well if they studied the NT.

2 Corinthians 9:6-7

The Cheerful Giver
6 The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Do not give under compulsion. Stop giving them tax returns. Stop forced tithing and shaming.

Just get away from that organization.

Nope. Not fantasyland. It says in the Bible not to give under compulsion. And tithing is forced.

You sound deranged. Evrything you say is a lie. No one in the Church knows how much tithing anyone in the Church pays or whether they even pay it. At the end of the year, you go to tithing settlement and the Bishop gives you a receipt and asks whether the amount looks correct. I’ve had years where I paid well into the five figures. I started a business this year and have paid less than $1,000 for 2019. The conversation went exactly the same way each time. No pressure, no scare tactics. Just the statement that “the amount of tithing you pay is between you and the Lord.” Please stop making things up from fantasyland.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77927891

They shouldn’t even be prying into how much you give or not give. No tithing for Christians.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76984449

Wait. This Mormon says I'm lying about tithing and no one knows how much you've paid.

Then he says the Bishop shows you a receipt of the tithes you've paid and asks him to verify.

To a non-Mormon with a IQ over 90, this sounds a little silly huh?

Mormon: "we dont have to pay tithe and no one ever knows what we've paid!"
Same Mormon: "bishop pulls out a printed receipt of all my tithe money and asks if its correct"

Makes perfect sense!

FYI my ex wife had to wait some time before she got sealed to her new husband because both couldn't afford tithe for a few months and lost their recommend.

Baptism should be a choice. You don’t baptize people without their consent. Jesus said he will raise the righteous and the unrighteous during his Diaper wearing dumb ass sniveling bitch reign. No need to baptize the dead when they will be raised and can decide for themselves.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76984449

The Bible forbids this practice anyways.

Back to my original points - I have never met a Mormon who actually ever read a Bible. Years of Mormon church and I never encountered a single person who actually knew anything about the Bible.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78161187

That is sad and tragic. They should be studying the Bible. Reading it everyday. Satan is the one who doesn’t want us reading the Bible. Way to go Mormon church.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76984449

AC1187, you claim that they don't read the Bible. Would it interest you to know that they just spent the entire year of 2019 studying the New Testament? And BTW, JESUS WAS BAPTIZED by his cousin John at the very beginning of his ministry and told us to do the same thing as a symbol of dying to the Old Life and being born into the new life.

You're missing the point where Mormons taught that all non-whites were cursed for choosing a neutral stance while in heaven. You're missing the point where the church only allowed negros in after the federal government allowed them.

You're also missing out on a book of mormon edit that removed teaching that only whites were worthy.

Tithing was for the Israelites. Christians are not under the law and forced tithing for them is unscriptural.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76984449

Classic apostate Christianity to suggest that tithing isn’t a commandment. There’s a reason God called prophets in the latter days.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77261945

From what I understand, they are not "forced" to tithe. Encouraged, yes, and promised blessings if they do (God will open up the windows of Heaven to pour out blessings). And if you're grateful for what you have, why wouldn't you want to pass a little bit forward for people less fortunate?
 Quoting: Eggcellently Deplorable

Not forced, just excluded from the Temple. Excluded from Exaltation. Left to chill with the bad peeps in the telestial. Because the terrestrial is hell, essentially for unbelievers. Telestial is for losers.

Outside of the US they are growing. They target uneducated people who have never read a bible before.

Some warnings from the Bible. Don't turn to a different gospel, even if an angel says so:

6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!

(Galatians 1:6-8)

Don't get tricked by people pushing their fake teachings, which are not from Christ:

8 See to it, then, that no one enslaves you by means of the worthless deceit of human wisdom, which comes from the teachings handed down by human beings and from the ruling spirits of the universe, and not from Christ.
(Colossians 2:8)

Don't get tricked by people who claim to have special visions:

Do not allow yourselves to be condemned by anyone who claims to be superior because of special visions and who insists on false humility and the worship of angels. For no reason at all, such people are all puffed up by their human way of thinking 19 and have stopped holding on to Christ, who is the head of the body. Under Christ's control the whole body is nourished and held together by its joints and ligaments, and it grows as God wants it to grow.
(Colossians 2:18-19)

Carefully consider what the Bible says. Compare that with what these people said:

Smith said that on the night of September 21, 1823, Moroni appeared to him and told him about the golden plates that were buried in a stone box a few miles from Smith's home. Smith said that the same angel visited him various times over the course of the next six years; Smith also said that the angel visited him to retrieve the golden plates after Smith had finished translating a portion of the writing on the plates[20] into the Book of Mormon.[2]

In addition to Smith, several other early Mormons said they had visions where they saw the angel Moroni. Three Witnesses said they saw the angel in 1829: Oliver Cowdery, David Whitmer, and Martin Harris. Other early Mormons who said they saw Moroni include Emma Hale Smith, Hyrum Smith, Luke S. Johnson, Zera Pulsipher, W. W. Phelps, John P. Greene and his wife Rhoda, John Taylor, Oliver Granger, Heber C. Kimball, Lucy Harris, and Harrison Burgess. Mary Whitmer may also have seen Moroni, although she referred to the angel she saw as "Brother Nephi".

Baptism question..

John 3:3-5 3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

They were practicing this ordinance but it was lost. You need the restored gospel.

1 Corinthians 15:29 29Now if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them?

Proxy work is the pattern of the atonement. Christ was our proxy for taking our sins away.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64698495

1 Cor. 15
29 Otherwise, what will they do who are being baptized for the purpose of being dead ones?
If the dead are not to be raised up at all, why are they also being baptized for the purpose of being such?

30 Why are we also in danger every hour?

31 Daily I face death. This is as sure as my exultation over you, brothers, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord.

32 If like other men, I have fought with wild beasts at Ephesus, of what good is it to me?
If the dead are not to be raised up, “let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we are to die."

for the purpose of being: This expression is rendered from the Greek preposition hyper, which literally means “over,”
but it has a number of other meanings that must be determined by the context.

Some Bibles translate the phrase “being baptized for the dead” or similar.

This rendering has led some to the conclusion that the verse refers to the baptizing of living individuals as substitutes for and on behalf of dead ones.

Nowhere, though, does the Bible mention such a baptism; nor is there proof that the practice existed in Paul’s day.

Furthermore, this understanding would not be in accord with scriptures that clearly state that those getting baptized were “disciples” who themselves “gladly accepted” God’s message and personally “believed.”

The Book of Mormon testifies of Christ. It’s close to my heart and many other people feel the same way that is why you see such a desire to make the church rich both financially and rich in time and talents.

I love that book almost as much as the Bible. Both are awesome but that book brings out a spirituality in me that I need.

America wasn't in the Bible either, was it? But yet, it existed and WAS here at the time of the Bible, both Old and New Testaments. So why would they talk about anything which was happening in America? Or South America?

It is the lesser law for the Saints.

You would not want to make covenants to a higher law when you don't want to keep the lesser law.

It is not about money it is about consecrating your life for Christ and building his kingdom. No one is forced. It would have no value.

There is no lesser law. And yes they are forced or they don’t get a planet.

it says on the cover: "ANOTHER TESTAMENT OF JESUS CHRIST"

why would Christians need "another testament"? what was wrong with "The New Testament"? you know, the one in the BIBLE???

Ever play the game telephone?

Christ true Church had an apostacy many plain and simple truths have been lost.

Amos 8:11-12

Amos 8:11-12 King James Version (KJV)
11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:

12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.

I'd also like to detail the Temple Ceremony. I was sealed with my wife before I left the church.

You cannot be with your wife or children in the Telestial Kingdom unless they're all sealed to the man.

Up until the early 2000's, you would take a blood oath that if you ever revealed the temple ceremony God would disembowel you and send you to outer darkness.

Now the ceremony is less demonic in nature, but still evil and heavily influenced by Freemasonry.

We all put on weird Freemason outfits. We chanted a bunch. People laid hands.

Then you learn a secret handshake. If you don't remember this handshake when you die, God won't let you into Heaven. You practice it a few times and then a man behind a curtain who IS GOD at that time tests you to know if you know the handshake. After this you get a new name. You also need to remember this name. Though, everyone gets the same name based on what month it is - you can find this online easily.

This is what I experienced. I did take a oath I would never speak of this secret ceremony.

There are videos on YouTube too.

Also, until the early 90's, male missionaries were molested before their missions. They had to have their genitals massaged and inspected by elders before serving their missions. Once this leaked, the prophet revealed that God gave him revelation to stop molesting the missionaries.

Considering you don’t know the difference between Celestial and Telestial it is extremely unlikely that you’ve ever been near an LDS Temple, let alone inside of one. I’ve been an endowed-in-the-temple member since the 1990s and nothing you say is true. Please stop telling lies about Jesus’s Restored Church. It’s not a good look.

There is nothing biblical about that ceremony. It is all based on freemasonry.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76984449

Lol he says I'm lying. During and after the ceremony you take an oath never to tell anyone.

Yet, we have lots of videos of the ceremony.

This is how we know you can't ever trust a mormon. They lie even when their secret has millions of views on YouTube lololol

Yup. I don’t trust them. They are full on Masonic.

No one is asked for a tax return.

Ever.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64698495

Yes they do. They shouldn’t even ask people to tithe.
