Far Infrared Heating use to be used in Physical Therapy... They told me to apply heat for 35-40 minutes, then let the area cool for 35-40 minutes... then apply Ice Packs for 35-40 minutes..
The body increases blood flow where is senses a difference in temperature in the body. Thus speeding up healing.
There are Far Infrared Heating Mattress pads available too.
It increases blood flow.. relaxes muscles.. and penetrates 3 cc deep.
I have used Thermotex brand of heating pad... I prefer their Platinum version.. so I can wrap it around a limb.
