In Theory, the right to check your cart and receipt in COSTCO is part of your membership agreement. Walmart on the other hand has no membership agreement. Not an issue of manning up, just feel back for the poor 80yo they have doing this shit.

They have cop parking places (more than one) in front of the store and frequently an off duty cop is by the door. To the cretin cop, refusing to show receipt and making a fuss constitutes "disturbing the peace". Yes, the nazi cops side with walmart. If you have Perry Mason on retainer, you might stand up for your rights, otherwise, be prepared to get your ass kicked.

Why don't they get more of these "greeters" and make them help load your cart so they can clear your purchase before you leave the cashier?

Or why don't you push your cart to a lane by the cashier, the cashier empties your cart as he/she checks it, and then returns your cart to you?

I have to admit that, not long ago, there was something in the bottom of my basket that didn't get checked. It wasn't much, but it would have been a real hassel if they'd found that it wasn't paid for. It was never my intention to steal it, it was just covered up by some large objects that they scanned in my cart.

I would have to drive another 5 miles (two ways) across busy traffic to get to target.

Literally takes a few seconds. If you don't like it open your own store and let people walk out without showing their receipt.

You might stop and ask yourself why they have to check everyone.

Aside from the obvious shrink problems, if they only check those that look shady then they will look like racists a vast majority of the time.

they are bottom of the barrel employees, most of the time they don't even look..

This is true.

There security is watching them on camera and making sure they are on the ball. If they don't check someone they hear about it in that little earpiece they are wearing.

Me and the old lady had separate purchases mine were in the bags in my hand and hers were in the cart. They checked my receipt and looked in the cart and said ok. They are usually just going through the motions.

I just hand them my receipt and keep walking out the door.

No one has any back bone anymore, everyone is all hush hush afraid to speak up afraid to offend some one!

There was just an article about Costco doing the same.

But they say it is to make sure YOU the consumer are not getting ripped off.

Bullshit, because if you don't check your receipts, you more or less deserve what you get.

You are under zero obligation to stop.

There's that little thing called computers that keep records too. This isn't the 1880s.

Frys Electronics in LA used to try that shit with me. Told them right what to do with their illegal search and seizure.

I tell them I have no contract with you and there is no law requiring me to show my receipt.

I had one who got in front of my cart refusing to let me leave and I told her if she didn't let me go I was calling the police.

Don't be a bootlicker. The boom booms never had to show receiots, why should we?

I always walk right past them. They often yell at me but I don't give a shit.

I find myself now not going to walmart unless I absolutely have to.
