Drop in the bucket probably. Are the burned out areas being seeded by water-tankers?? That would help in the long run.
Any plans to thin out the forests and keep the ground from becoming a fire hazard?

One could do that on a plant by plant basis next to your home. Just don't waste fire suppression resources and time. If one does not understand how vast these fire acreages are its doubtful you could grasp how silly watering plants for months over a million acres is. ========= At some point later thinning and removing excess fuels is very appropriate.
