There are millions, maybe billions of bacteria in the GI tract that we don't even have names for, and they bathe in the Ganges river with rotting bodies...I even watched them drink it!

Ichthyosis is extremely rare. I watched a video of another boy that had it and it was extremely painful for him. So sad, I wish there was a cure or treatment.

Why are these things always in India?

The birth defects - it's not just the highly polluted water, combined with older women having babies, super high rate of consanguinity (in the southern part of India the rate of same family/cousins married is estimated at 50%), malnutrition in mothers along with serious iodine and folic acid deficiencies.

Very sad. And there's barely any information available on it beyond the fact there is no cure and the only treatment isn't practical. I was hoping to see that this condition is something that gets better with age, but I was unable to find if his symptoms will decrease over time or if he will suffer with it and this level for the rest of his life.

Freak show? A poor little boy, a little human being, suffering terrible pain from a very rare skin condition. He isn't a 'freak' he is a child whose parents are too poor to get him treatments. Heartbreaking.
