Congrats to all who have quit smoking, whatever method you used. Vaping was the ONLY thing that ever gave me long term success. I actually still vape ... I'm pretty sure I could quit that if I tried, but don't want to at this point in time. It's my only remaining vice, and I plan to enjoy it. I have had the very occasional cigarette in the years since I quit them... and honestly, I don't enjoy smoking at all now.

We don't have enough data to really see long-term effects of this virus. Early indications are that it does lasting damage in some people ... but honestly, it'll be years before we can say for sure what the longterm effects are. Anecdotal reports strongly indicate that a lot of people are remaining unwell after the initial infection. Those of us with FM/CFS/Lyme etc. can tell you that having a chronically dysregulated immune system is potentially extremely disabling.

As for that wack interpretation of the CDC numbers.... y'all have already said what I was thinking. Most people have some kind of pre-existing condition that could be considered a comorbidity. Those comorbidities would not be fatal, though, without the COVID in the pictue. 'Nuff said. And I am also really sick of people talking about death as the only thing to worry about with this virus. But, you can't reason with people who are convinced this is all a hoax. They will find ways to hold on to that belief, no matter what.

The worldwide protests are bizarre. Interestingly, a lot of the people interviewed from the protests are Q followers. The Q thing is far reaching, indeed ... probably one of the most brilliant psy-ops ever run.

"Less likely" does not equal "do not". One asymptomatic "less likely" spreads it and the person do infect becomes symptomatic and the full R0 is in play once again.

I already have had a DVT and it had certainly affected my quality of life. And I have a desk job so it's even worse cuz sitting makes swelling go up which then makes it hard to walk or be as mobile as I need to be.

Been about 4 years since diagnosis and I can't even imagine where I'll be in another 5....

Unless someone has had an active life taken away from them they will never understand how having a chronic condition is almost worse than just dying straight away.
