It took us forever to get approval for one CHEST PERCUSSION DEVICE.
But I became pissed after an Icu stay that included induced coma and intubation. we received one soon after.

the vest has kept us out of hospital past four years. and yes suctioning that phlegm is very helpful. BUT that is where dehydration becomes a huge factor because body producing more phlegm. climbing the bronc tubes or becoming detached from inner walls, because body successful in fighting for that day. remember inflammation has always been the bodies response to fight invasions. white phlegm ok, yellow phlegm bad, obviously green is the worst. but not out of the woods yet. sadly also Gtube experience during the whole 15 years. trachea for a few years.

the reason I responded was because I used the vest unconventional from therapy advice. thought that was important. concerning time lengths, increasing percentage of vibration, meaning as much as I could when it was bad. but within tolerance. that percentage can be bumped up to 90 percent only for a few moments. very effective, my experience. this breaks away that phlegm from the inner walls of bronc tubes and lower respiratory. makes sense correct. that is the idea. especially if the medication and body is not fighting it faster then it spreads throughout the respiratory system.

if no machine. yes chest compressions on the BACK, front chest and tubes. over do it, seriously. Actually works, but your hand will give out quick. better then nothing. there is a technique cupping the hand. makes a distinct vibration..

just don't tell the doctors the plan of attack with the machine if you get one home. I really pray that you do receive one in home. Good luck..
