Good news on the ICU resources front.

I am not saying being this sick is good news, only that this will free up some beds and maybe stop the system from collapsing.

I wonder why that isn't happening in the US? Some people just need supplemental oxygen. Some people already get oxygen delivery to their house. Maybe it's due to the speed some people switch from that to the ICU.

Well, at least we agree on Vitamin D3. In retrospect with hindsight (always handy), the mostly worldwide lock-down may have been overkill. However, we saw China's reaction and we did not know what we were dealing with at all! Now, at least we know a little bit about this Virus, and have a more measured approach. I do disagree strongly that this is just "a bad flu". I personally know of healthy men in their 30's, 40's, and 50's with no co-morbidities, die of this disease. The one common factor was they ignored it, trying to keep working until they could not breath, and then it was too late. In Mexico, where the health system has virtually collapsed, the death rate among people who catch the virus, is 9.7%! Think about that. If the US health system collapsed, that would be 1.2 million deaths.. [link to coronavirus.jhu.edu (secure)]

I know that this is, of course, a conspiracy site, but it does get pretty bleak at times. What are your thoughts on how this will play out in the UK and USA?
 Quoting: Lago

The US is a completely different, but from a UK point of view, I am going to go against the general school of thought with many regulars on this thread, I'm not saying I'm right or the posters here are wrong. I feel some encouragement with so many scientific companies announcing success with vaccines, I know we are in early days, but I think we are on the right track.

I truly believe we will over come this virus, yes there will be some tough days ahead, but I really don't see this virus as a end of civilisation event.

The economy is not DOA, it's going to take years to get back on track, but it will slowly grow over the coming years.

I see every day folk who are unwell with this virus in my line of work, the sick children and mentally disabled are particularly hard to witness, but life goes on, we go on, we have to keep going, that's the only way to move forward.

Not arguing with anyone, just my current take on the situation.

Best regards to all on this thread.....

Snap for the D3. Although if I tested positive, I would up that to 50,000 first day, and 20,000 2nd day, (it sounds a lot but I have read about it) and stay in bed as much as possible. I also take 1000mg Vitamin c and a multi-vitamin.

Are lockdowns killing babies?

Similar to the observations made by Ashish KC and colleagues1 in Nepal, we previously reported an increase in stillbirths associated with the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK, from 2·38 per 1000 births (between Oct 1, 2019, and Jan 31, 2020) to 9·31 per 1000 births (between Feb 1 and June 14, 2020), but unrelated to clinical severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection

We agree that pandemic lockdowns have potentially harmful effects.5 The reductions in care seeking and their associations with adverse outcomes observed in Nepal and in the UK serve to emphasise the need for balanced public health messaging.

Always wanting me to scratch his ears, or feed him some of my canned Veni.

Makes me cry, missing that Big Guy.

Never forget how much he just LOVED chicken bones.
Whole unmunched by me fried chicken even more.
He Did get lots of whole chicken from the bag.
I Always share with friends.

I could swear he could smell fried chicken from 2 miles away.

Really loved my Thieves Oil too.

We love you, too, Henry Bowman. You ARE part of us. Good, bad, or indifferent, we're all in this together.

You made me cry over all my dogs over the years. Not a bad one in the bunch, even the pit mixes. All good dogs. Not all were smart, but they watched over us.

I gotta go. I really do have tears falling down my face tonight. I shouldn't have gotten the darned turkey. Don't feel like it today. If it weren't for the left-overs....
 Quoting: Texan Buckeye

Ref sadness, I have been feeling it for months when thinking about the ignorant masses continuing to shop, go to restaurants, drink in bars, and congregate for rallies or demonstrations.

Many will end up dead or disabled unless we get really lucky with the virus.

As for me, I am happy. I am with The Queen daily and I see NEW LIFE all around me. My big Jersey cow is very near to calving and the little heifer, Vaquita, is growing, although it looks like she has dwarf genes.

The chayote vines are popping out fruit which we eat daily.

I checked out the pond yesterday which is fenced off to keep the cows out. The sugar cane is taking off and the bananas I planted a few weeks ago are green.

For you who have not made the decision, having an acre or so in the country is a great long term survival strategy. Its also a peaceful life.

I hope the vaccines work, but I am worried about side effects such as the rumors about destroying fertility. I pray that this info in not correct and humanity is able to fight the pandemic.

Its like in battle, you do your duty even if its dangerous, but if you die, you are not going to be able to help anyone.

So, survival above all!

As long as I am here, I can help others. I sounded the alarm months ago. Few listened and fewer adhered to the safety guidelines.

So, we stay home and we prep, plant, and improve our homestead.

Back to the barn tonight. Its hard to believe how much useful stuff we accumulated that we simply could not FIND before. Now, I am going to use all of those preps.

But this IS Different. You are ALL Good people.

Sadly we are watching our World end.

I miss my Genuine Friends too, all of them.
All the way Back to Jay Fields, died in 2006.

Prolly Miss Earnie the Big dog, the Most.

"He Never Judged me, never Cheated me, Never Lied to me"

Always wanting me to scratch his ears, or feed him some of my canned Veni.

Makes me cry, missing that Big Guy.

Never forget how much he just LOVED chicken bones.
Whole unmunched by me fried chicken even more.
He Did get lots of whole chicken from the bag.
I Always share with friends.

I could swear he could smell fried chicken from 2 miles away.

Really loved my Thieves Oil too.
At 15 he started Breeding again while on it.....

This is the early traffic, plenty more coming this week.

And lest we forget? Those that travel "to" somewhere can be counted on to travel "from" that location back to their starting point.

So we get doubles on the number of contacts that occur on a round trip basis.

Hey, if anyone has a second to help me find something, I've tried using the search function with no luck.

Somewhere recently was a post about Covid going dormant in the stomach or stomach lining where it can avoid detection and reactivate later.

Can anyone point me to that article, please and thank you?
