I dug into it and looks like a workable solution in times of an emergency extended with 20lb tank, hose, filter and carbon monoxide detector (all sold separately). There is a larger model that goes up to 18,000 BTUs and has a battery powered blower.

Again, for emergency if no other option is available and while supervised and as instructed by manufacturer..etc..etc.

Will the vaccines work against the new variant?

Almost certainly yes, or at least for now.

All three leading vaccines develop an immune response against the existing spike, which is why the question comes up.

Vaccines train the immune system to attack several different parts of the virus, so even though part of the spike has mutated, the vaccines should still work.

The vaccines don't work now! They don't stop infection, they just prevent severe disease supposedly....

Why call them vaccines, they aren't. They are shots used for treatment so people don't get severely ill.
