Some plastic pencil grippers can help with the fine motor skills also...
If I could I would send you a keyboard with headphones as that helps with fine motor skills and math...they have iPad apps but imo not the same...
Or a set of electric drums, maybe...he’s at a good age to start an instrument...not a horn though, that’s like third grade as a rule...a small violin is good also, but you would have to be able to tune it for him...daughter at this age started music lessons, but I just paid for them, lol, I’m not a musician despite three years of piano, lol...

Agree, with you Lago. It makes me wish people would have and would take this POS virus seriously. Feel like we're watching a train derail off a bridge in slow motion.

We are avoiding going out as much as we can. Instacart among other services is our friend. I am thankful for those peeps who make it possible for us to avoid going to the store although it feels like they are really taking a huge risk.

From today's figures (12/28) Riverside County has 120.4 new cases per day per 100,000 and a 21.3% positivity rate...ugh.

Our little town of 200,000 now has 19,548 confirmed cases with 147 deaths. 11,945 presumed recovered but there are still 7,456 that have no label...guess they are still sick.

I got him a huge pack of chunky tri grip Ticonderoga pencils. And we have been using iTrace..... since he was three. But his pediatrician warned me that he could remain behind a bit longer than normal on the finer motor skills just because of all the fevers. So really on days he struggles.... I use an orange marker, put his answer down, then he traces.

I think legos are more helpful. It’s also helping him manage and work through his anger when his expectations don’t match his body. He built a jet from the directions, a couple days ago. That’s something he couldn’t do six months ago..... finger wise.

I am not talented like TB! But we sing and dance. And he just started joining in, about two months ago. He is too rockstar in his moods.... he would just break an instrument. But amazon music unlimited was a good investment.

And time permits :) lots of time. He only needs about two hours max of traditional learning. Half paper other half iPad.

And after 3pm ... he is not allowed to have toys. Oh the pains of teaching an intense kid to calm down.... you need hours before bed. Ahhhhhhhh.

I gotta send you some pictures. He has this cabinet, in the kitchen.... it’s puzzles, games, coloring & activity books, and other quiet time activities.... a paw patrol book bag full of crayons, markers, pens, pencil, etc.

I really am blessed that I get to raise such a neat character.

I have not entered a commercial building since March. Recirculating of virus spores when the HVAC heat/ac is blowing air is infecting everyone in the grocery store, etc, etc.

Many people in the general public have been under the impression that when they hear the word 'vaccine' they think silver bullet. Many thought the vaccine will stop the spread of the virus so they could skip getting vaccinated themselves if enough other people take the vaccine to reach the threshold of vaccine induced herd immunity. Well it doesn't look like that is going to be the case.

The vaccine works by preventing severe illness but not infection. So it's possible that a vaccinated person who gets infected and doesn't have symptoms could infect a non-vaccinated person who then goes on to develops severe symptoms.
