I’ve never had so many young people dying of covid in my ICU. It’s beyond heart breaking and frightening.
I know no one wants to hear it, but I’m saying it anyway.

It’s alarming. Just a couple months ago, it was so rare to have someone in their 40’s need ICU. Now the majority of the patients in my unit are 40’s or younger- and so sick. Must be a new variant in my area.

30-40’s. I personally haven’t seen, and can’t recall anyone younger than 30 needing a vent in my unit as of yet.

Or the Brazilian, which seems to be more virulent in younger populations. I haven’t had the heart to look at the data lately, as silly as that sounds.
There have been no recent breakthrough (fully vaxed) cases in my unit.

First signs of my prediction coming true. Unvaccinated people are going to start dying and then another bum rush to the vaccination centers.

You are free to choose your own path, but keep an eye out for the on the ground intel. The media isn't going to tell you about these stories because it looks bad for Biden.

Just having a look at patterns in COVID Case Fatality Rates by age (calculated by Daniel Howdon) and if you look at how they've changed from 1st January you can see a beautiful cascade as vaccines started to do their thing in successively younger age groups.

Vaccines are ace.

Not sure how anyone can dispute the obvious differences, but I'm sure they will try. Or just ignore this data.
