You might want to start “quarantining” any deliveries for 14 days at this point; that’s what I’ve tried to start doing. But water, toilet paper, sanitary towels, red lentils, rice, beans (as someone mentioned), and some spices to stop it getting too boring will take you pretty far. If you can afford more, get tinned tuna, tea bags, hard chorizo (no fridge) at Morrison’s, crackers, a huge jar of peanut butter (if you’re allergic, whole foods does huge almond butter tubs as well as peanut), bleach for sterilisation. Remember to boil the water at a hard roll for at least two minutes to kill bacteria and viruses. Easy delicious lentil soup by just chopping up chorizo and boiling it up.

Fried frog legs.... been awhile. Frogs are better than squirrels. Though I have a real fat squirrel hanging around in the back yard lately. What I need to figure out is possums, raccoons, and armadillos... Got several in my 100 acre wood. But you got to be careful with those for food preparation purposes. And how about road runner? Anyone ever eat road runner? I have several of those around too, especially a large male that hangs out on my roof. Runs over the fence, hops up on the patio roof, and then up to the main roof. I've replaced reindeer with roadrunners for Christmas, because of the patter of little bird feet running back and forth on my roof.

Here is the worst part of my story, we demanded an autopsy they confirmed died of double pneumonia and organ failure followed but cause of death is left blank. If that isnt a tell tale sign 9f a cover up, I dont know what is. We never put the 55 year old who died in the obituary because we are more co cerned about her 16 year old son who has lost his mom who also had pneumonia. I have no reason to come on here and lie about losing a family member. They also kept her body for two weeks after the autopsy and denied giving us the ashes or death certificate for almost a month. Canada is complicit and is actively covering up deaths. How about you write the Canadian government and ask why they are stock piling 3m masks if its not here? Or better yet ask them to start testing for covid when patients have covid symptoms and you will get your proof really fast. I'm not here lying, I'm here cause I'm pissed off.

Just a suggestion, bulgur wheat. Good rice substitute. No arsenic. Requires less water and can even be eaten after just soaking if cooking becomes a problem.

I buy Russian Buckwheat for my family as a prep food. It's cheap where I get it, it's not sprayed with poison, it's edible uncooked just by soaking it in water if you're desperate or don't want to get a visible fire going due to opsec.

It cooks like oatmeal, easy to store, long shelf life. Pets can eat it. And here's the most important thing, it's extremely rich in protein and antioxidants, super food status because it's seed, not a grain.

Just an overall A++ level prep. Will keep you alive for a good long while even if all you had was water and buckwheat. Can even bake a loaf of bread with it, some salt and baking powder and water if you soak it for a few hours.

Good to hear that mentioned I don't think people know about Buckwheat in the US really, they opt for rice which is...not a good prep, little nutritional value.

Country folk eat wild edibles that an urbanite never would. Do likewise. Carp is a nuisance fish and when smoked it pallatable. Eat porcupines, turtle, and crawdads (crayfispameamed acorns rids the tannins in the fastest way. Tap maple and birch trees. Add white clover blossoms to other food. Red clover can be eaten raw. As long as grass seed has no black rust, it's edible. All of these were survival food. Collect the tops of cattails and they taste like corn. You can eat milkweed pods and samaras which are the maple seeds (not the blackened ones).

If the disease is waterborne, realize that city water may be contaminated and you could get sick from skin exposure as well as ingesting it. So be careful as taking a bath or shower may be an issue. It does not appear so at the moment.
