The only problem with being energy independent, food independent, etc is that is actually quite useless if we're paralyzed by a virus. Americans won't be willing to do all they can if people are sick.

I had planned to attend Aero Friedrichshafen this year, Apr 1-4.
I have putting off the final decision to cancel, but it is looking unlikely that I will be going. Just not worth the risk at this point.
