P13315 There must be thousands of flu patients that should be tested but haven’t been. Twenty seven is kind of weak for a state the size of NY. PLus how many times were they even tested? Before anyone gets tested in the first place, all other possibilities are test for and ruled out. So, if they don’t have CV, what DO they have? No one ever reports that. Does the test catch mutations of the virus? I've tried to answer both questions many times. With millions of Americans, the CDC would love to have more biostatistics from state morbidity and mortality reports, but it's a big expense to order test to identify the exact bacteria or virus. This would add millions upon millions of dollars to budgets, the insurance comanies would balk about reimbursement, the backlog would be immense as we lack the amount of med techs and microbiology techs to handle this. The physicians know this and guess what the pathogen is based on logical diagnosis. When a patient is not responding to treatment, the doc changes the antibiotic. Antivirals only lessen the severity of symptoms. By the time an analysis of the sample was complete and returned, the patient might be well, so it would be irrelevant. |

P13315 Just got off the phone with my buddy whose wife is Chinese. She spoke to the remaining few family members in China. From what I understand food is being delivered directly to people’s doors. They leave money under the mat and delivery person leaves food on the front door mat. If barricaded in by government it’s done differently. Also mentioned that one person she talked to says they think they may be the last tenants on their floor. Every couple days someone comes to the door and inquire on their health and asks for their temperature. They are the only door on the floor they knock on. Others have been either taken away or hauled away. Some supposedly are not ill and think there may be some other reason they are being removed. Not all residences are barricaded in. Those which are barricaded are for people not following quarantine. Also, brown outs and rolling blackouts are occurring. Water pressure is sometimes really low or there is no water at all. Also the water coming in smells of heavy chemicals like chlorine. Tastes funny as well. They are putting water in open containers to save for when water is lower or off and also to let the chemicals to go away. Basically the underlying term used by my budy was China is pretty much like a ghost town. That is all and this thread is way too hard to keep track of now. Chlorine binds to water, but then diminishes in smell. To see if your water is still chlorinated, you take a cup and pour it back and forth in another cup...seven times. It will then "off-gas" the chlorine. You then can smell it. If you can't smell it, it's got suboptimal chlorine and you need to purify the water as pathogens may be in it. File that away as later, it likely will happen. My understanding is NO ONE should drink Chinese tap water as it's higher in pathogens in unacceptable ways and polluted with chemicals. If Chinese citizens drink it, long term, severe health effects and toxicity will happen. When my pool is clean and heavily dosed with chlorine it has no smell. When the pool is dirty then dosed with chlorine it has a chlorine odor. The odor is from a compound called a chloramine. Chloramines indicate that the pool is dirty, but being traeted. Once clean, even at 10 ppm chlorine, it will have little to no odor. Any public pool with a heavy smell is not a pool you want to swim in as it's dirty, but being cleaned. In the USA and apparently elsewhere, some city water utilities have switched from chlorine to chloramines. It's unclear where these come from and if they are made domestically and would effectively shut down a ciuntry who had no access to them due to a supply chain crisis. I get what you are saying about dosing. |
