Keep Your Eyes on the Ball: A Look at the American Petri Dish

Hours ago, two flights evacuating passengers from the Diamond Princess arrived in the United States.

The Diamond Princess cruise boat had the highest level outbreak so far outside of mainland China.

60 Americans from the ship remain in Japan either hospitalized or electing to remain on the ship.

Just as the flights were departing, 14 people on board were identified with suspected cases of the virus.

One airplane landed at Travis AFB in California and another at Lackland AFB in Texas where they offloaded an approximate total of 300 people into quarantine on base housing.

7 passengers testing positive on board the plane at Lackland and 6 inboard the plane at Travis then continued flight to the UNMC National Quarantine Unit at Camp Ashland, Nebraska where the 13 people were placed into quarantine at the 20 bed facility.

A total of 235 people are currently under quarantine at Lackland, including a previous 90 persons being held separately whose quarantine period ends on Feb 21.

One member of this previous group tested positive and was hospitalized last week at Methodist Hospital in San Antionio.

65 people are being held at MCAS Miramar until Feb 21st. This includes 4 people that were being held in the UC San Diego Health isolation units, one of which had tested positive and was mistakenly released back to general quarantine at Miramar before being taken back to the isolation unit when the mistake was discovered.

195 people were released last week from a 14 day quarantine at March Reserve Base in Riverside, California.

Other confirmed cases in California include 2 people who have been hospitalized since Feb 3rd at UCSF and are still currently hospitalized.

One person was hospitalized in Los Angeles on January 26th but no updates can be found at this time.

Another person was hospitalized in Orange County on Jan 23rd and released Feb 4th.

Other discharged patients include one at Providence Regional in Washington state on Feb 3rd.

2 Discharged from AMITA Health St. Alexius in Illinois on Feb 6th.

5 other confirmed cases around the country were under 14 day self isolation at home with no further updates.

What to watch for

Due to the inaccuracy of the test kits, long incubation period of the virus and a haphazard at best quarantine approach, I believe that we will see secondary spread begin to be realized this week from people who were released from quarantine after negative tests and possible transmission to staff at medical and quarantine facilities that handled previous confirmed cases.

Now is the time that the cup and shell games begin- keep tabs on who was where when. The truth will start to get lost in the shuffle.

I think the overlooked fact is that the CDC didn't want to outsource the testing to field labs because intelligence wanted to get all of the samples into a centralised testing place (Atlanta) to control the data. That would be because the data could have revealed this might be a bioweapon and that information would have been leaked from field labs by random technicians. But by having a centralised testing system, they could have controlled the data and kept it from leaking out, data on the strength of which can be a pretext for a war.

This is as serious as it gets. I think the idea that the test kits were faulty is a smokescreen to cover for the behind-the-scenes problems intelligence/Pentagon had with how to keep the data secure and to prevent it from being leaked by random technicians.

This is the only interpretation that makes sense. To think that the USA made faulty test kits, while South Korea had tens of thousands of tests is utterly absurd. But given the pandemic nature of the beast, the Pentagon relented and now tests will be done all over the place.
