But really, isn't that a benefit? Those of us that pay attention had time to make or improve preparations that would have been impossible with a large population of panicking people randomly buying and taking everything, like a swarm of locusts?

Panic is NEVER a good answer. Concern? Definitely. Facing reality? Of COURSE! But panic implies havok, running around with no plan, flailing about and indiscriminately hurting people while doing so.

Example... in most cases where there is a fire in an enclised space such as a theatre, the fatalities caused by fire / smoke inhalation are usually less than a 3rd of those caused by panic and stampede. Orderly exit would save many injuries or lives, while panic nearly ENSURES a much higher casualty rate.

THe flu is bad, but a panic will make the actual fatality numbers exponentially worse.

We have Israel who confirmed a case today where the man was tested multiple times in Japan and was cleared after the virus wasn't traced in his blood.


Two weeks later he is positive. Same happened in Japan and in china.

Maybe, I misunderstood, but wasn't he asked about reinfection by a different strain?

We have had lots of reports about reinfection by the same strain only, I think, so, technically, he was correct.

It may not be reinfection though. It may be that viral counts got too low be detected, so it never really went away in those cases.

He should have cleared that up.
