just tried to get more info on PA. rural counties going up but just single digit counts. data i got was to the 24th and most were <5 cases for the week.

still those counties are rural and RED,the ppl are out like life is normal.my understanding is masks are optional.much of the northern counties of PA are very rural so am sure testing is not widespread.

still 5 cases in my home county<am from there originally> is concerning. have family there. 1 case in the wrong spot and boom. might gedt ugly fast.

I can't find any other information other than a couple of Sinclair broadcasting local sites. Not sure if this is affecting SE Michigan, the reports are all coming from counties further north.

well put DYIN. i was thinking earlier that we should change our prepping since much is opening here.somethings may b easier to get now b4 places go back to lockdown. not sure if pawnshops are open ,i think they might b as most retail is. could b time to make deals.

Thanks for all the news and updates, everyone. I was amused by all the talk of organizing our preps. I spent the last couple of days preparing for yet another visit from the junk haulers -- I'm jettisoning a lot of things i just don't need anymore to make room for all the emergency preparedness stuff. I'm an urban apartment dweller, so no outside space for a shed, or anything like that. Luckily I do live in a large loft space, but it is shared with roommates. We created an extra area for my second pantry, and the backup power and such I got for our household. I think I am going to buy another case of TP, while it's still available.

The little pink yeast pill that CC was referencing for the ladies is called fluconazole (generic for Diflucan). It can actually be purchased without a prescription for veterinary use. I'm a bird rehabber, so I always keep it on hand ... and it is a good thing to have amongst one's emergency meds. It's useful for most any kind of systemic fungal infection, not just the feminine kind.

For bacterial infections of the mouth and throat I have used Xylitol. Its a synthetic sugar-alcohol.

Sorry, not intoxicating.

However, the bacteria think its a sugar, consume it, and die.

Watch the dose. If you eat too much it can start killing gut bacteria.

I learned this when my daughter had strep throat repeatedly as a child. She was drinking amoxicillin by the gallon.
