I tried getting through to my family today. Sent a group text to my parents, sisters and sisters' husbands. I told them to get masks while they still can.

My mother sent back the laughing emoji, my super sheep sister said that I was nuts and more likely to die from the flu and to wash my hands (FFS), and my other sister sent back a fake breaking news headline with a link to that big black naked dude.



They like to believe whatever the TV tells them and it's so frustrating.

I've been working 13.5 hours, and the temper is getting short.

Just saw once more that movie Contagion.
The similarities are striking, the numbers, the areas affected, the whole plot.
And then it's that spooky line, "nobody knows until everybody knows".

Try a Vet supply company. They frequently carry surgical equipment such as IV bags/lines, even masks and gowns. When I equipped my Trauma kit a decade ago that's where I bought my scalpels, sutures, skin staplers, Gauze Pads and Syringes/needles; I found complete Stainless Steel instrument kits [one of nothing but scissors/forcepts, the other all hemostats] in fitted leather leather cases for under $20 ... I wanted everything needed to do minor surgery and I got it.

I'M not a Dr., but I figured very few Physicians/EMT's have such equipment of their own laying around the house and in a crisis I could probably find someone who knew how to use what I had. I DID buy a great US Army Surgical Field Manual that shows step-by-step how to do simple surgeries, but just don't see myself picking up a scalpel!

BTW: everything I mentioned above were much cheaper than anywhere else! As I recall, an IV kit with a bag, line and clamps was about $3.25~~
