Anyone studied the typical symptoms/disease progression?

I am wondering if this new disease is already making the rounds in AU. I am (very) fit, and never get sick (like 2 years since last sickness (!)), and managed to catch some weird cold with extreme bronchitis 2 weeks ago. Doesn't feel like the flu, feels like a really bad cold with really weird severe stretched out respiratory symptoms. Difficulty breathing too :~ .

Been coughing violently non-stop last week for a few days, then it got better but still kind of crummy :~

It's summer here with 40C days, and flu season should be about 6 months from now.

Going to the GP (doctor) is useless, as all they do is prescribe antibiotics for a runny nose. They don't take things seriously around here.
