I have the book and if I remember correctly, the virus was just a tiny portion of the plot, but it was named Wuhan 400 and described as a virus that had a less than 24 hour incubation and a kill rate of 100%. It killed by eating the brain so that all body functions stopped.

From everything I have looked at from any reporting and questions put to health authorities - even our leaders - it is obvious there is zero medical care for a large outbreak of this virus. We are on our own and when things get bad, it will be controlled under the heading of 'national emergency' where no one's health care will matter, a military response will be activated and the poor populous of the lands of democracy will be plunged into martial law and heaven knows what.
