I am still in awe that people (not this crowd) listen to this, but don’t pay attention to the the other pieces of information.

Can't remember if I posted this or not.

My aunt was working in NJ as a nurse with covid patients.

She showed up to work with a fever.

She was told that she couldn't work anymore.

She was told that it was okay for her to fly back to Colorado, but that she should wear a mask on the flight.

She was not tested in NJ. She did not get tested until she got back home.

She tested positive for the virus.

She has been a bit tired, but is doing well as of yesterday.

She is 60+ years old.


If this virus is such a monster, and we're doing everything to stop the spread, why would they let her fly?

Greenhouse/Prep update:

It is now getting too hot in the green house. With the door open and the exhaust fan running, it's been over 80 degrees most days. I have been moving the plants outside to give them a break from the heat.

Chickens are pretty much full size now, and have been roaming free. So far they have not bothered any of my plants. Pretty sure one of them is a rooster. We have been holding him a lot and doing things to him, so that he understands that people are the boss. The rooster and one of the chickens will come right over when they see us now. They're starting to get brave and venture further and further away from the coop. They're up to about 50 ft now.

Door on our freezer popped open the other day and some of the contents thawed a bit. Hopefully it's all still okay to eat.

Its really interesting how the media reports this story about the two types of tests being combined in the data.

They try to make it seem like things are worse, but in reality it means there is likely far fewer new infections than are being reported.

Big jump in the numbers yesterday, after several days of much slower growth. The website I was using for my data, is no longer updating. It's been two days since the last update.

I really don't believe the numbers are correct here in the US. It seems that they are likely to be much lower than what is being reported.

I think at this point the lockdown is killing more people than the virus is, and possible more than what the virus would have.

Also note John Hopkins University lists worldometer as a source in their data collection.

Well at least Belgium has got their shit together finally. Seems the outbreak is under control there now.

Brazil will likely bump them out of top spot for deaths per capita in the next month or so.

You say that with the ramp up in testing they are finding a lot more cases suggesting that most people have been exposed which is a good thing.

It's a good thing that infections are actually less than those being reported

Just because we filled our freezers doesn’t mean we don’t have dry goods. Nor does it mean that everyone will be without power.

Some states and areas are capable of their own supply and generation. It might be out for a month... but it won’t be forever for all.

I do fear a big enough power outage that will spoil anything frozen/refrigerated.

Get a pressure canner,propane burner, meat grinder and lots of jars. If the power goes out for long enough and things start to defrost....get busy canning

Its both. There's a lot of antibody tests coming back positive so more people have already been exposed, and new cases active infections are lower than we thought.

I suspect the issues with the Texas website are due to them taking out the antibody tests from that reporting. If the 945 new cases are correct, that would be a very good mid week number for them.

No way to know for sure right now. We will have to watch and see what it looks like over the course of a week.

You have some options. You can can the meat, dehydrate, or you can buy a couple solar panels and some deep cycle marine batteries and inverter and keep your freezer as well as charge laptops or phones, etc.

If you have a well, you can get a solar pump for it. Perhaps you can even drop it with your old pump still inside. Can happen. But a lot of times you have to pull the old pump. Good to know in advance of needing to do it though.

If there's an EMP, solar may not work. Or it might. People are split on it.

But yes, I agree we're in the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Next horse would be war, followed by famine. Interestingly, there isn't any definitive length of time spelled out for the whole apocalypse. And we could be in the middle or at the beginning. Another thing people are split on! lol.

For those who are complete pathogen deniers, I have asked why ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine are effective at eradicating all symptoms of what they say is just a cold or flu. No answers as of yet.

There's definitely a whole ton of issues with tests and numbers and conflating Covid deaths. But so many people have had this so it seems indisputable to me that there is a pathogen.

My 70-year-old grandparents have been running around to every store, my grandfather runs his own retail business and refuses to wear a mask or social distance.
They're upset that my family won't be going to their memorial day pool party. My grandma promises the (moveable) chairs will be 6ft apart, everything will be outside, masks are fine... but half of my relatives think this is a nothingburger, and I'm not risking my kids/husband.
With a holiday every month, cases are going to keep going up.

I don’t have optimism... I have knowledge and faith.

The most important tools right now are remaining centered and preparing for what is yet to come.

Prayer over resources is important. If we are at the beginning... food will be causing illness (not the virus... just referencing the Bible) and the famines start.

Whatever happens will happen. Being heart centered and kind can help with sanity... and just being a good soul.
