Not a natural Earth disaster so I'm not meaning to sound snarky, but why do people think it will get this bad like how it would be after a hurricane kind of thing?.

} I am STILL Connected to the Power Industry {...... Just because we filled our freezers doesn’t mean we don’t have dry goods. Nor does it mean that everyone will be without power. Some states and areas are capable of their own supply and generation. It might be out for a month... but it won’t be forever for all. I have generators with enough fuel to keep my freezers cold for months, if necessary. What people need to understand is the generators don't need to run 24/7. You fire them up for a few hours to get everything done you need done, then you shut them back down and save the fuel. My biggest concern is the noise they make. I'd like to be able to run them quietly so I'm not advertising their presence to everyone within half a mile.
