I had a request to repost my minimal solar setup, so here it goes:

200w Solar kit with charge controller:

100 Amp Hour deep cycle battery, two needed to be run in parallel:

2000 watt inverter:

And two sets of cables, one to run from the inverter to the batteries, and one to put them in parallel:

This system will provide 75 amp hours of charging in most areas, maybe a bit more closer to the equator. The batteries will provide 100 amp hours of capacity. Note that you have two 100 amp hour batteries, but they are over-rated. If you run a 100 AH battery down past 50% charge it won't last long. But two 100 AH batteries only run down to 60% charge will last forever. Also this buys you a bit of room if there's a few days of clouds.

Some basic wiring examples can be found here, but if you pull the trigger on this feel free to PM me and I can walk you through it.

Whole system can be built for under $1,000. This would provide enough power to run a refrigerator or deep freezer continuously, as well as some lights at night (LED) and charge flashlights or radios, and run the occasional power tool.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

I have been on the search for something that can run my deep freeze, what I got back in March won't cut it

I bought a 2000 watt Inverter back in March ??
Enough to run a fridge AND the small chest freezer I HAD
{Jackass got a freezer FULL of meat too}

Can be found on eBay for about $110 Shipped.
Look for the company in Kentucky I think.

I always see where items ship from, how long to receive

(since I am apparently wandering aimlessly and never know where the wind blows me next, or WHEN)

I DO NOT buy from Jersey or LA or NYC Any Longer.

I also had 5 gallons of battery acid....to rejuvenate the many, many batteries that are old and just 'scrap' now.

I WAS planning on buying a 220 Volt Inverter to keep a well pump going and everyone in water

Well now, that didn't happen, did it?

Stupid shits screwed themselves,

Just do not know it yet.

I got this and a 100w solar panel so far:

I'm a huge Jackery fan.

Wordsworth's solar setup is awesome, and I don't think that classic system is going away anytime soon. But for those of us who want something lighter and more portable, the lithium batteries are having their moment.
